We're Hsuan-min Chou and Blythe Howard-Chou, founders of Jumping Bean Communications. Do you know someone who can use our marketing writing or technical writing services? Forward this newsletter to a friend or colleague, or point them to www.jumpbean.com.
1. Need some catalog copy? Look no further. We just finished a gig writing catalog copy for Active and Able (aka Specialty Store Services), a Chicago company that sells products to the elderly and people with disabilities. It was great fun writing the short, sweet, every-word-counts copynot white paper copy that goes on for pages and pages. Every writer should get his/her hand in it. Especially if you're a newbie. Why? Because every word counts. Read this great article on 7 Reasons Why New Copywriters Should Start With Catalog Copywriting. Do you want to advertise your business/service on Bean News? Take a look at our client list, and you can see the industries we cater to. Send an email, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. 2. Did you like the work we did for you? Yes? Tell the world and get 10% off. You liked what Jumping Bean did for you? Well, don't keep it to yourself. Let other businesses know, and you'll get 10% off your next project! And it's easy
to do, too! Just leave a favorable review at Need some tech writing done? We can do your Windows and online documentation in addition to your print. Send an email, or give us a ring (773-562-6093), and we'll get back to you right away! 3. Need to close the deal? Do it with an article or white paper You may think that marketing is all direct marketing. But what really closes your deal isn't "in your face" marketing, but gentle yet firm cajoling. Cajoling with facts, figures, and graphs. And this means, articles and white papers. Think
we did an outstanding job on your collateral? Don't keep it inside. Tell the world!
And we'll take 10% off your next project. 4. Tip: You're small but you need to teleconference with the big boys? Do it for free! While working on a pro-bono project with the Taproot foundation, the team needed a way to meet and discuss the project on a weekly basis. But all of us were in different parts of the city and suburbs. Rogers Park, Lincoln Park, Bucktown, Lake Zurich. Lake Zurich!?!?!? How did we meet on a regular basis? >> Make your day run more smoothly and efficiently with our timesaving tips. Got a tip? Send it to tips@jumpbean.com. You might see it in the next issue of "bean news!"
Just after celebrating our Independence Day, what could be more American than to malign the French? We love doing it don't we? We say they smell, they're rude (really, it's just the Parisians), they capitulate and wave the white flag when a foreigner steps on their land, and they don't "repay" back in kind when their friends are in trouble. Then why is it that we all go to visit the city of lights? Why is it one of the most popular student-exchange programs? Why are "frites," aka French Fries, always paired with that American hamburger? And while the hordes of Americans visiting France are discovering that most of France is gone in July and August, (here to ride Space Mountain and the Matterhorn, despite having a Disney of their own), let's help the French chez nous celebrate Bastille Day (their independence day) with some tasty crepes.
