Tip: Using your phone to keep track of reminders, due dates, anniversaries, etc.I've been trying out tools to keep track of appointments for years. In 1999, my friend John B. gave me his old Palm Pilot II (I think he won another one in a contest). And although Palm handhelds are great (and really kill the boredom on the plane and train), they are limited. I can't carry one everywhere I go because they're just a tad too big (and, no, I don't have a man-purse). And unless you have a Treo, there is no vibrating alarm. But I do carry my phone everywhereIt's in my pocket right now (probably irradiating my nether regions). And that's where this great NYT article comes in. The article talks about new mobile services that help you keep appointment, remind you of tasks, and what not. And they're easy to use! Two of these services are Jott and ReQall. Overall, they work pretty much the same way:
Based on your preferences you set up in your Jott or ReQall profile, you can be reminded 30 minutes before the scheduled task/appointment. And thanks to fairly smart voice recognition software, the services can send you an email/SMS on that day at that time (or before depending on your preferences). ReQall is free (for now) and Jott eliminated its free service (stupid economy!) and has affordable monthly plans. Resources TipsMicrosoft Word Adobe Acrobat General Outside the cubicle
