Recipe: Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 3-4 large baking potatoes
  • salt
  • 3 tblspn butter
  • 1/2 cup milk (or cream, which makes it VERY rich)

Directions

  1. Wash and peel potatoes, cut lengthwise into quarters.
  2. Place potatoes in a pan filled with water and a little salt.
  3. Boil for about 20 minutes (or, when using a knife the potatoes feels tender).
  4. Drain (set pot of potatoes back on burner with burned off for a couple minutes to make sure all the water is evaporated.
  5. With a potato masher, beat the potatoes until all the lumps are gone
  6. Add butter and a little salt.
  7. Add milk or cream.
  8. Serve immediately.
