Recipe: Irish Coffee

"Morning is the time to pity the sober. The way they're feeling then is the best they're going to feel all day."

Supposedly that's an old Irish saying. To the folks at Jumping Bean, it means celebrating St. Patrick's Day all day long. And what better way to do it than with a pint/cup/mug of Irish Coffee?

This Irish Coffee recipe will perk you up (for the morning) before bringing you down (so you can take a catnap on the couch).

Ingredients

  • 2/3 part freshly brewed coffee
  • 1/3 part Irish whiskey
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • Lightly whipped cream

Preparation

  1. Into a stemmed glass (or coffee mug for the office), add the brown sugar and whiskey and stir.
  2. Add steaming hot coffee (strong, black, espresso-like).
  3. Stir and add a dollop of whipped cream.
