Recipe: Holiday cheer with a hot toddy

Tony Bennett—with his jingle bells and Rudolph—may make winter seem easy and breezy, but we know it's a big ol' lie! So why not welcome winter with open arms, cuddle up near your closest heating device (i.e., a wife and/or a cat), and drink a hot toddy courtesy of Epicurious and Jumping Bean Communications.

Ingredients

  • 1 cube sugar
  • 2 ounces bourbon, rye, Scotch, Canadian, or blended whiskey
  • Slice lemon
  • Nutmeg

Preparation

Put sugar in a mug or small tumbler and add enough water to dissolve. Add the whiskey, fill with boiling water and stir. Garnish with slice of lemon and grate a little nutmeg on top.
